Atleast with Gore and Lieberman you have battle tested Senators who will continue the current prosperity we all enjoy.

Well, I could say that I agree with you about Lieberman. In fact, the Dems would be better off if HE were running for president, and not Al "Fearmonger" Gore.

What really bothers me about Gore and his patron "skank", Mr. Bill, is how he loves to twist people's emotions and make it seem like voting for George Bush is comparable to voting for Lucifer hisself. Oh... that nasty Mr. Bush, he has a "risky" plan for everything... Everything is "risky" and with me you have nothing to fear (because I'll just lie to you in order to make you forget about it)

Oh that Mr. Bush... he's "big oil", "big pharmaceuticals", and he'll wind up having the black back on the plantation in a wink of an eye... GORE HAS NOTHING TO OFFER BUT FEAR ITSELF in order to convince you why you should vote for him.

That's his entire strategy... 100% of it.. Pandering to the fears of the American people and making them terrified of the Republican "boogieman".

And I'M PERSONALLY REALLY SICK OF IT!!!! After 8 years of being lied to by Clinton, seeing the proposals of conservative Republicans highjacked and claimed as their own ideas. Let's take workfare for example. It required a Republican governor in Wisconsin to show that he had the guts to stand up against the democratically created system of welfare dependency, and create something that makes a hell of a lot more sense. Anyone with common sense could tell you that if you just pass out checks and food stamps to people without requiring they meet some expectations, they will have no reason to get off that system. And they will vote for those who will increase their benefits which creates an revolving circle of dependency.

Workfare is nothing more than requiring all able bodied individuals to be off welfare within 2-3 years, even if it means sweeping the streets. If you are going to be a
ward of the state, then the state has the right to demand certain expectations from you. Why has it taken 40 years to FINALLY REALIZE THIS!!??

And I'm sick of seeing him spending literally every waking moment raising money from whereever he thinks he can get away with it, I'm just sick of it.

Cheney has an INCREDIBLE RECORD of bipartisanship and compromise. He knows how to work with all sides and achieve that which is most responsible and necessary for running the government. He showed that during Desert Storm where he and GW's father pulled together a coalition of mutually hostile/competing Arab nations to oppose one of their own, "brother against brother". Hell, they even got Syria to send a division.

And furthermore, they were smart enough not to push it too far and try to completely conquer Iraq, which would have left us in a very precarious position of occupying that cultural morasse.

And Cheny has been a congressman, as well as the youngest chief of staff for any standing president, in this case, Gerald Ford. The guy has been here since before Gore EVER obtained office.

And one more thing... Cheny has offered to give up 10s of millions in stock options from Haliburton, or at least place a option lock-in on them similar to what Robert Rubin did when he became SecTreasury (one of the few intelligent things Clinton has done in his adminstration).

Just what the hell is Al Gore or Joe Lieberman giving up in order to merit the office?? Do you think Gore will give up all that Occidental petroleum stock he stands to inherit upon his mother's death (he is the executor of the trust) so he can remove the taint from "Big Oil" on his reputation?

Do you think he'll pay a penalty for all the tobacco his father and he grew on their farm... Tobacco that led to the death of his sister from cancer... (something that he cynically shed tears over during the '96 election)..

Sorry to rail on you David... and please don't take this personally... I hope that you'll respond and amplify on why you think Gore is "battle tested" merely because he was a Senator. Dan Quayle was a Senator too, if we haven't yet forgotten.

Btw, if Gore wins, we might as well short sell the entire pharmaceutical sector. He will DESTROY that industry if he follows through on what he's spouting with his rhetoric.

Again, I'm just using this response to get out some thoughts that I hadn't put out earlier about how I'm sick of the heart wrenching and fearmongering Gore is playing on. His rhetoric is contrived, dishonest, and just plan negative politics, something he stated the American people don't want to see.... all of which I'm sure he learned from his patron...

No wonder Bush is getting ready to take the gloves off. If I'm pissed off about this, I can only imagine how GW feels.

Let's debate the issues David.. I would like to see some folks get in there and justify more government entitlement programs that lead to "risky" deficits and higher taxes with which to pay for them.

Regards,

Ron
