DAk, how about reinstating bad loans as performing loans just because the borrower "made a promise" to pay on time now?? and the whole thing goes down to the profit line of the bank, the stock jumps and start to rally and the top brass are cashing in their option (selling the stock)pocketing many $$ millions.

....... time passes by like 9 to 12 months the borrower renegs on his promise ...... gee hard times again competition lowers prices can not pay...... loan again reclassified as bad loan...... stock goes to the cellar President and top brass resigns with a hefty bonus and the proceeds from the stock sale at twice the present price ........ nice

...... and yes it is not a local or regional bank and it happen to more than just one bank.

may be bit simplistic but in essence true.
