Yes, I believe you have the right to ask for that portion of your dues which was used for political purposes back. But try running the request for the form past your union representative. A friend of mine is a teacher and they drug her through the mud for asking about it at a union meeting.

The "group think" mentality of liberal Democrats is truly profound. Many of them see politics as a religious cause. And if you don't agree with their religion, you're the enemy. Clinton/Gore's, win at all cost no matter what you have to say or do, falls right down that line.

I heard Hillary recently use the term "missionary work" to describe what needed to be done by Democrats.
