Hey Ray,

My comment was not meant as a political statement.

Welfare reform has added to productivity as the welfare rolls have dropped about 50% in the last couple of years. These people now off the dole are now productive members of society, and as such add to the productivity figures.

I am surprised that the IT contribution was as low as reported. I would have guessed higher.

On an unrelated topic, and one of my favorites, optical switching....check this out.

The optical interferometer switch under development at the University of Michigan has got my attention. A 50G switching speed adds some real juice to the device. Do you guys have any idea how the MIT stuff ties in?

Who are the University of Michigan corporate partners?
