I am missing your point. I am for english as a first language (well there is some debate as to whether non-english speaking kids should be thrown into english day one or start in spanish and move to english... I don't know, whatever is more effective) but english eventually... I agree, we don't want to be stupid like Quebec. But the freedom of religion thing is a problem its a personal matter and should be out of every public institution since christians aren't the majority anyway - we differ on that. I certainly am not saying that living in SV is a panacea but you can't argue with the national prosperity - in order to attract top foreign workers (or workers of any kind) you need tolerance.
