Are we actively recruiting technical immigrants or are they begging to come here? For the best people - those that can start companies, we are competing with Ireland, Hong Kong and some other tech-enabled cities apparently. For the workers they are dying to come here and other places. We don't have exclusionary religious policies now. The ten commandments (a ridiculous waste of taxpayer time and money) passed just last year. The religious right took aim at Murphy Brown in the 1992 republican convention and was walloped. So we don't know what would happen to immigration or business if their policies were enacted. I personally think the pro-life platform would be a disaster for any working woman and would affect business in real terms.
