To: Rarebird who wrote (126 ) 9/3/2000 1:30:52 AM From: Hawkmoon Respond to of 10042 Governor George W. Bush has made some anti-democratic connections of his own. His association with the neo- Confederate group, the United Daughters of the Confederacy is a case in point. Oh my god Rarebird!!! I really can't believe you are playing this kind of game here... Saying Bush is a front man for a racist organization is like saying the Gore is the front man for NAMBLA, just because some of these pedophiles were at both of their presidential inaugurations AS WELL as being graced with presidential speeches in front of their organizations. Or it's like saying Al Gore is a Chinese spy just because his former fund-raising pal, Maria Hsia, was convicted of election fraud as a result of her involvement in the Buddhist Temple scandal.washingtonpost.com Or even better, there is this one detailing Gore's direct ties to Maria Hsia:washingtonpost.com "Al Gore was the junior senator from Tennessee in November 1988 when he received an enticing proposal: Take a "cultural and educational" trip to Taiwan, and political benefits would follow."If you decide to join this trip, I will persuade all my colleagues in the future to play a leader [sic] role in your presidential race," said the invitation from an aspiring Democratic fund-raiser in Los Angeles. (WHEN GORE WAS A SENATOR, MIND YOU!!!: Ron's note) Gore agreed to go to Taiwan, but nearly a decade later that decision is playing out in unexpected ways on his presidential ambitions. The letter was written by Maria Hsia, who was charged last week in a six-count federal indictment with having engaged in a political money-laundering scheme. The Justice Department alleges that Hsia facilitated $100,000 in illegal contributions to the 1996 Clinton-Gore reelection effort through a California Buddhist temple that Gore visited in a controversial April 1996 event. Hsia has pleaded not guilty and has vowed to defend herself vigorously at a trial scheduled to start April 27." Here's the whole cast of characters for you to reflect upon:www-wp9.washingtonpost.com Btw, you're name wouldn't happen to be on this list would it:www-wp9.washingtonpost.com Oh and btw, I believe it has been factually documented that certain parties that were involved with Martin Luther King WERE communists, and possibly actually funded by the KGB. Hoover had quite a bit of this in his dossier of King, but I'm not sure they were able to make the irrefutable claim that he himself was a communist. Either way.. in my eyes I don't care if someone is communist. The CPA has been legal for years. It's when they advocate the violent overthrow of the govt, or spy on us for foreign nations that I get upset. Kinda the same way I feel about racists or white supremists. I don't like what they say, but I'll defend their right to say. But apparently you would disagree with me on that, right? I suggest that you not continue to pursue trying to smear George Bush in this way.... There is a far longer record of Clinton and Gore's "interesting contacts" than their are Bush's.. In fact, an 8 year record of those contacts.. It's like Clinton stated in one the last debates he had with GB.Sr back in '92. "It's just time for a change..." Btw, I happened to catch some of that debate which they were re-airing on CSPAN this evening. Of course, Ross Perot was there as well (remember him?) Anyway... if they re-air it, you should watch it and see how many of Bush's prophetic comments about Clinton were dead on. George Bush KNEW, even then, that Clinton was a fair weather leader, someone who set sail to where-ever the political winds were blowing. And that is a trick that Gore has picked up while playing presidential understudy. But that is not leadership Rarebird. Pandering to people's desires and preying on their fears is just plan wrong and after 8 years of it, I'd think we'd all be just a bit wiser for the experience. Regards, Ron
