No.

I get no literature, phone calls in this regard. Maybe the local president does, but I certainly don't. Never have in the 20 years I've been a union member. It varies from union to union, of course. Some are much more active in terms of political causes.

Let me just add one more point to the conversation:

If I work for an S&P 500 company and own stock in the company, does the company ask me if it's OK for the company to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republican politicians who will further the goals of the company, i.e., make more money through various means, including supporting legislation that is anti-union?

No. They spend money as they so choose.

Then why does everyone get hot and bothered over the fact that the AFL-CIO is spending money to further the goals of America's workers?

What the hell is the AFL-CIO supposed to do with the money, sponsor rock concerts?
