Thread- I would hate to think what the media would do to ATT if they did not meet their year end 2000 goals. Look at how ATT is getting clobbered by the media in spite of ATT doing exactly what they said they would with their cable plant investment. -MikeM(From Florida)

AT&T Broadband Exceeds 400,000 Local Phone Customers

DENVER, Oct. 26-- AT&T Broadband today passed the 400,000-customer mark for its AT&T Digital Phone service, moving the company closer to its year-end telephony subscriber goal, the company said today.

``Customer demand for this product remains strong,'' said Dan Somers, president and chief executive officer of AT&T Broadband. ``We are committed to offering customers a competitive choice of phone service over our own facilities as a cornerstone of our strategy.''

Somers reiterated that AT&T Broadband is on track to meet its year-end target for [500,000] telephone subscribers. AT&T Broadband added more than 50,000 customers since the end of September.
