<That the electoral vote seems far away from what the polls(taken in the largest cities only) are showing>

Richard, Gore is ahead in the Polls throughout the vast majority of the Northeast, CA and some crucial swing states now for the first time, such as Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota. I heard on Bloomberg Radio in NY last week that Gore was even ahead 52-38 in Florida.

Notice Gore's big lead in CA and that data is old. Recent polls indicate that Gore is gaining incredible strength.

By election time, I expect the whole Northeast from Maine down to the mid Atlantic States of PA, MD, NJ and Deleware to vote Gore, as they did in 96 for Clinton.

Gore is a shoe in in NY. He doesn't even have to campaign here or in Massachussets.

I expect CA, Oregon and Washington State to vote Gore in by November.

I'd watch Illinois closely. That is the key battleground state. Missouri, Ohio and Iowa bear watching too.

PS Hillary has expanded her lead over Lazio since this most recent poll.

Long-Gone,
Do I understand you correctly when you write about the plight of the farmers in this country and as you say.."the accumulated wealth of generations, now gone, will also vote in November."

Considering that the plight of most farmers is directly tied to the lack of rain, wouldn't one expect that since the "God Squad" people are firmly behind the Republicans, that Pat Robinson and his fellow Republicans could give up one day of hatemongering and pray for rain and not a Republican victory, come November. Let me remind you, Bush has a farm here in Texas and it is located in one of the driest areas of the state. So help me out here....When and if he gets elected in November, he and the "God Squad" crowd will bring rain to the Crawford, Texas area and the other areas of the country where farmers are suffering from the lack of rainfall. How Christian of them to wait until their man is in office to help him and the others.

And let's not forget about all that accumulated wealth that has been lost and the former owners of this wealth will vote in November. Let's see where all this wealth really is and I give you data from the current issue of Barron's magazine, that bastion of capitalist, so don't give me the rejoinder that the information is biased against you and all you other elitist.

From the 1990 to 1999, the CEO pay is up 535%. During this same period corporate profits are up only 116%. And a little drum roll for the increase in pay for the workers....a huge and surely in your eyes an unjustified amount of 32%.

So in reality when you speak about the accumulated wealth being lost, what you are really talking about is the $18.7 million dollars that Cheney and wife have made over the past 10 years and as we say here in Texas...you've got a case of the reda** and you and your crowd will vote in November to make sure that Cheney and crowd won't have to give up their accumulated wealth.

Have a nice day at the country club! You do know it is Labor Day?
