A footnote to remember? TCI merged ANTC because of the changes in digital conversion and interactive functions for new cable system. Until ethernet connection was proposed, the systems were not computer dominated system. Since then, the proposed functions have changed many set top boxes. I still remember only 3 years ago, that Scientific Atlanta had to scrap most of the set top boxes built for Time Warner. ANTC should always have joint ventures with GI and SA, so that the capabilities of the boxes are known. TSX's demise was just that. In this business, the systems are not fully worked out yet. Technology of broadband equipment is still in its infancy. Without Nortec, ANTC has no product that can stabilize its business. So, some new products and business has to be studied along with new set top box designs.
