You are entitled to prefer someone else's recollection, although I did see the clip, so it could be biased either way.

The documentation I was searching for was the transcript about Love Canal.....On the other, yes, it is my recollection, and I may be mistaken......

I did not mean to imply that he made the whole thing up. Or did I? Hard to tell when someone is intentionally misleading, isn't it?

You seem to rest your case mainly on the idea that it is all trivial. Hyperbole implies a recognizable figure of speech. None of these things fall into that category. They are exaggerations. Are they harmless embellishments? Well, he is not just telling anecdotes, trying to amuse or entertain, he is using them to gain high office. Are they merely a matter of putting one's best foot forward? If you said : "I carried the ball on computer issues in the Congress", that would qualify. If you claim to have taken the initiative in creating the Internet, that claims much too much. Are they mere foibles? I don't think so, but obviously you disagree, and I suppose we may leave it at that.......
