8 levels, 4 levels At 65% increments between levels, allowing for maybe 10% margin of programming error, so an effective 50+% gap between levels, 8 levels uses up a 35X dynamic range, which is what is available at 80C -- milspec. 1.00 1.65 2.72 4.49 7.41 12.23 20.18 33.30 8 levels = 3 bits = OUM rules the world. ====================================================== 4 levels on a 35X dynamic range allows for 200% gaps between levels: 1.00 3.00 9.00 27.00 This is very comfortable, and I would guess eminently do-able. 2 bits = more than a run in the dryer. wily
