RE:"Kash, it's the same song-n-dance all over again. Pre-release Pentium II was thought to be an underperformer. Pre-release Athlon was thought to be an underperformer. Now pre-release Pentium 4 is rumored to be an underperformer. Same old same old"

Is this the Intel official line? How much faster will theP4 be on release compared to the benchmarks we have already seen? Have you seen benchmarks for the "release" Willy?
BTW, how do they get the engineering samples to bench poorly?

Jim

Tench,

re: PIV

I agree that PIV will be better than whats out there in terms of benchmarks.

Currently the 1.4Ghz PIV is MUCH slower than a 1.1Ghz Athlon.

Seems like it may get up to 1.1 or 1.2 Ghz Athlon.

Still a big dissapointment.
