Adam - RE: "When Via starts producing a DDR SDRAM chipset, which Intel PC133 chipset will it be positioned against?"

Do you mean an Athlon or Pentium III DDR chipset? They're doing a PIII one first and it comes out later this year. Intel's i815 is their PC133 chipset.

"How much more will DDR memory cost?"

At Micron's site (Crucial.com), PC1600 DDR SDRAM costs as much as PC133 SDRAM. The PC1600 SDRAM offers 1.6GB/s of bandwidth (same as 800MHz DRDRAM) at the same price as PC133 SDRAM's 1.06GB/s of bandwidth.

Crucial is also now offering the faster PC2100 (2.1GB/s bandwidth) DDR SDRAM for only 16.3% more $$$. That's 31% more bandwidth (theoretically), and it STILL costs much less than DRDRAM.

"Anyone have an idea on how much the DDR chipset will cost?"

I'll let someone else get this one...
