P4's IPC problems are inherent in the microarchitecture and have been known for a long time. All benches I have seen so far are consistent. IPC numbers will not improve in the production silicon.

<On the other hand, if The Register results are correct, I would advise all here to sell Intel stock.>

I sold all my Intel stock accumulated over a 12 year period in May 1999 and bought AMD. Few days ago I sold INTC short at $75 7/16.
