Bracing for the IMF Conference

The area I live -Vysehrad- is bracing for the IMF conference
to be hold in Prague. I leave 100m for the Conference Center
and the place is threatened to become a war zone on Sept. 25th.

To here -apart from the money men- a whole lot of protester
will converge to make Seattle and Washington DC look like
a Sunday in the park compared with what they promised to do here.

Being this a former communist country, the protester are very
much determined to show that privatization, gobalization,
de-regulation and capitalism is not good.

The police is already preparing to keep the city open.

Protesters say, the money men will not even reach the venue.

That's an old city divided by a river which a few bridges to cross.
Many of the streets are very narrow. The protester disdained the police efforts
saying that with 80 bicycles they will bring Prague to a halt.

Shutting Down Countries and Cities

elmatdor- Considering what just happened in France,
and what happened in the UK, this is not going to look pretty
if it comes to pass as you paint it.

Protests against gasoline tax can literally shut down a country.

I'm guessing protest against the IMF may be successful too.
It'll be interesting to watch from a distance but must be worriesome
from your point of view. And the Europeans wonder why the Euro
is so weak against the greenback? Go figure. -MikeM
