ADD,

MU's attempts to invalidate RMBS's patents can be construed at trying to put the IP company out of biz.

Rambus developed a product which is losing out in the marketplace. They are trying to make up their lost potential earnings by extracting even higher royalties from the winning product.

At some point Rambus will have to accept the fact that they lost, and settle for a reasonable royalty payment.

To state the obvious once more, if Rambus is in any danger of going out of business, it's because RDRAM is a failure on the market. And whose fault is that?

Of course, if Micron went back to EDO, that would match the production capabilities of the last company that Rambus make a "technology" deal with, Oki. Win or lose with MU, Rambus will always have Oki.
