I do not want any information given out about me. I receive so much junk mail, catalogs, and phone solicitiations. I keep sending my name to the addresses to remove ones name from mailing lists, but the junk keeps increasing.

the junk mail will increasing if we comply to their invitation to send "REMOVE" to that email. Our reply merely confirms that our email address is active.

the only way to fight is press "DELETE".

amazon new privacy policy is an indication that the company is really short of cash: you don't bite the hands that feed you.

Amzn already has a credit card, that's why they invested in NextCard.
You can get a NextCard at the Amzn site by giving them all your information, which Bezos will pass on to sell.

Merry,

I believe they do but any credit card is still a version of Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover and a few smaller firms. These are franchises. The banks that issue cards license the franchises. Currently, the FTC is investigating Master Card and VISA for a possible violation of monopoly powers. Specifically, not permitting financial institutions that offer a Master Card or Visa to also offer American Express and Discover.

I have this on the New Econmy thread too:

Does anyone here follow UIS? I have a friend that has a position underwater in that firm and was looking for advice. I told him I would ask for opinions. I looked at the ML research but I do not follow the firm. Any opinions are appreciated. Thank you.

Glenn
