It is my understanding that corporations use general worded statements when discussing share buybacks or other business.I would think that they do not want to speak very specifically because they might be disseminating inside information.

It's possible that guy from KEM IR was speaking out of turn. KEM might well want to support the price of its stock price but it seems doubtful that they would divulge that info. If that were true, one would be trempted to buy call options should the share price fall to that level. JMO.
