Where do you get the idea he's copping out? Why so much bluster from the Gore camp on this? You guys are wigging out.

I'd love to see Bush and Gore go toe to toe, with no moderator, like in the old days. 30 and 60 second response times with moderators from the media aren't really debates.

Bush will charm the socks off the soccer moms in the upcoming Oprah interview.

<<What do you Bush lovers have to say about him copping out on national debates rather wanting limited audiences on cable and Sunday morning shows...........>>

What do you have to say about Gore first agreeing to the two debates and then waffling out?

Both NBC and CNN said they would provide feeds to any network that wanted them. Looks like Gore is the one doing the copping out.

Actually, Clinton initiated innovations in the debate format to suit his style, insisting upon less formal "town meetings" where they got to move away from the podium and had audience interaction. Frankly, I though the idea of trying a different format was pretty good. I have been watching these debates for a long time. A more conversational situation sounds good to me.

As far as the audience goes, well, the presidential debates did not hold as large an audience as one might desire. Meet the Press is the most popular of the Sunday morning gab fests, and people who care will watch it. Most homes now get CNN, and during the Gulf War they got extremely high ratings. The administration considered Larry King to be and important enough venue to debate NAFTA there with Perot. And, finally, there would be on conventional broadcast.

Your rhetoric is intemperate, and unbecoming. Whatever credibility you had is in tatters.........

David, you will learn, my boy, you will learn. Just watch for a bit and learn. You don't know enough yet to be literate on what you are talking about. Patience, my boy, patience.
