If you remember the last debates, they were pretty much a joke. I for one don't care for the debate commission formats.knc

Why would anyone think that an actual conversation was inferior to the conventional debate format? In any event, Cheney is terse, and well adapted to that format. Bush is "folksy" and a wee bit garrulous, and not well adapted to that format. The conventional format is more prone to yielding sound bites. What is phony about wanting to play one's strengths?
