Well, Ish, if you want a safer way of getting the proper dose of negative ions, try sitting by a waterfall, or hanging out on a beach by the ocean (there has to be heavy surf). :-)

It is odd, perhaps, but some years ago I discovered the best sleeping potion in the world: environmental tapes. My favorite kind: thunderstorms, ocean surf, simple rain. (Must find a waterfall tape.) I always put one on when I go to bed, and turn it on again when/if I wake up during the night. Works like a charm, like hypnosis. Makes me wonder wonder whether you can get your negative ions from a recording of the "real thing."

I know what you mean. When I was growing up, we lived on top of a hill with no trees right around the house. So the house got hit one or two times a year. We had lightening rods which took the hits, but still it singed th paint.

My kids love lightening. But they've never been in a house that's been hit. I try to smile happily with them as the thunder rolls and the lightening flashes, but childhood memories are strong and I really want to hide under the nearest bed until it's over.
