en,

<< Schedule for 1x EV-DV standards development >>

You are becoming the FTP Wizard of 3GPP2.

Excellent, current, detailed, informative document you linked.

It jives pretty much with another 3GPP2 Word document I recently reviewed (no link - I didn't bring Hanzel & Gretel and can't find my way back to it), that addresses the upcoming cdma2000 IS-2000 Revision B I have referenced here before.

This is an abstract:

===========
Release A addendum

- baseline: August/TSG-C

- published/TIA ballot: September 2000

Release B

- baseline: October/ TSG-C published/TIA ballot: December 2000

1X EV Phase 1

- Baseline: August/TSG-C

- published/TIA ballot: September 2000

PHASE 2 cdma2000 EVOLUTION PATH

* Send out call for papers/proposals (end of August meeting or baseline of Phase 1)

* Papers to be presented at the September/October (preliminary)/ December (Opening Plenary)

* Develop comparison methods

* Simulation and data results presented (technical reviews)

* Consolidation of proposals and development on single concept proposal

===========

A few important references in the document that you linked are:

* This group has been advised that both 1xEV-DO and cdma2000 Release B activities take priority over 1xEV-DV.

* Please be advised that at least some of our resources will again be diverted during the October 2000 meeting in Kyoto, Japan when we will focus on resolution of TIA ballot comments on the 1xEV-DO standard. All ballot comments are intended to be resolved and the updated 1xEV-DO specification will then be published by the closing Plenary of that meeting.

Your document is about 30 days fresher than the one I reference. Based on your reference it looks to me like the published specification for 1xEV-DO in October and 1x1xEV-DO next summer.

Thanks, Wizard (FTP type - not to be confused with Merlin) <g>.
