JohnG, the USA is too wimpy to allow New Zealand into NAFTA. The USA farmers can't compete with NZ and Australia. The USA is welcome to join the NZ free trade zone any time it likes. They just need to allow people to import products from NZ. The USA can right now freely export to NZ anything they like - provided it's legal and safe. Right now, you can log on and buy all the WWeb spectrum. No need to promise to line a politician's pocket or anything. Get your credit card out and buy yourself a bunch of spectrum at auction.med.govt.nz Click on "MR summary" There are some real bargains in 3G WWeb spectrum. The NAFTA negotiations are just to keep another layer of government bureaucrats in the manner to which they've become accustomed. The USA hiding behind trade barriers doesn't protect most Americans, it only helps the sheep farmers and other protected industries which can't cope with the real world. That protection is at the expense of the other Americans who provide the living for the incapable who would otherwise have to get real jobs instead of trying to compete with NZ and Australia.
