.... am currently only 7% invested in biotech.

With the recent announcements in stem cell research, IMO some of the biotech stocks should do well this Fall.

I am reviewing the sector allocation of my equity investments

I tend to not properly allocate the stocks I hold in a portfolio, as long as I am actively following the market. I know that proper allocation is important...especially for a long term investor who is not actively following the market. I'm not sure what the correct % should be...and with the market as volatile as it has been lately, I'm not sure anyone can offer a correct "formula" for success. (If you find one, let me know <g>!) It seems like lately a "news event" can dramatically affect the share price of stock, and an understanding of a specific company, as well as the trading range of the stock price for that company is probably just as important as the correct asset allocation in that sector.

With the election, I'm afraid that the biotech stocks could be volatile....based on the different medical genetic beliefs of the candidates. So, IMO if I were to add more biotech stocks I would want to carefully be a "stock picker" in this sector.
