KNC: Re the "80 to 90 percent Demo crowd": I think you're overstating that a bit. In past debates, I've heard as much applause for good GOP points as for good Demo points. If that were the case, then why did GWB select St. Louis as the site for the only Presidential Commission debate? Washington University in St. Louis is hardly a bastion of conservative thinking. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I can see why GWB doesn't want to debate in Boston -- because of the JFK legacy and all that -- but why wouldn't he want to debate in Winston-Salem? He should be strong in that part of North Carolina.
