If Palm is just a simple device for tracking appointments, what are they going to do with this competition?

Remember the REX? It's the size of a credit card and about 1/4 inch thick. Weighs practically nothing, battery lasts for 6 months. The BAD thing about the old REX is that you had to use 5 buttons to input and navigate....not any more:
