The numbers that were released by the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIOC) were quoted in a couple of different Korean newspapers. Here is another version....

There were 1.21m combined ADSL and cablemodem subs on June 21st....this number increased to a combined 1.75m at the end of August. Of course, the real question is if the MIOC publishes accurate data. I feel fairly certain that they do....the data that the MIOC publishes each month is simply a total of the numbers that are reported to them by the various operators. They also publish cellular phone totals, and I havent found any discrepancies in those figures...even when the numbers arent flattering for their stated goals. JMO....
