<And again, you mistake non-support for spending money on obviously, and intentionally offensive art, or programs, with intolerance.>

And who is to be the Judge, Ron, for what constitutes "offensive art?" The "Moral Majority?"

We had an interesting situation develop here this past spring? There was a work of Art that went into one of the Public Art Museums here that was extremely offensive to many devout Catholics and our illustrious Mayor, Giulianni(who is basically a good guy). Giulianni threatened to suspend funding for this museum unless they took that offensive picture of Christ out of the Museum. I thought we were going to have World WarIII around here for a while. All the Art Connoisseurs' from around the World came to NY to view this picture and talk to the Artist. Their final verdict was that it was a great work of Art with a very unusual interpretation of Christ. The Work stood in the Museum.

The Moral of the Story is that Art, Music, Philosophy, Medicine, Science and Technology is beyond the Moral Jurisdiction of the "Moral Majority".
