I don't think Bush has that much of a chance. I thought the polling numbers have been rigged all along. They'll likely contract to a close lead for Gore as the networks want to generate viewer interest nearer to the election.

I don't think the presidents have much to do with the economy. On the other hand, didn't he have a Democratic majority to work with? As I recall, He was pretty much the same foreign policy disaster as Clinton. The Russians were sending troops and advisors all over the world and stirring up "civil wars".

Looks like U.S. made out like a bandit from the Gulf War...
