Exactly what I was thinking. The press pretends shock, shock that a politician would dare criticize a reporter.

Problem is, most Americans hate reporters even more than politicians.

The press going ga-ga over the asshole comment will backfire. Few people care about the feelings of the press.

Bush "lowered the playing field" with that comment...imagine what comments he'll say off the cuff during the debates when he gets flustered.Let me tell you,I would be most appreciative of a tax cut but not at the expense of lowering the national debt.Some of us look at the "collective" good.

Remember when Bob Kerrey told Clinton a lesbian joke and the C-Span mike picked it up? They both guffawed heartily afterward. That was in the 92 primary campaign. Nobody went gaga over that, not even Republicans. These people need to grow up.

I agree, Clymer probably is an a**hole, in which case Bush merely spoke the truth.
