Lets start a contest to guess how many of the top 10 OEM's announce products (P4 based) by November 1.

I am sure all the OEMs will make encouraging noises in response to an Intel announcement of the new processor. It costs them nothing. However, I predict that no OEMs will ship any P4 based systems this year, given the current state of the P4 development and infrastructure.

The major OEMs would have had to already have a stable P4 platform in house if they were to build and test systems for shipment by year end. If P4 was currently in that good a shape then we would be seeing some evidence to counter the poor benchmarks, NDA or no NDA. Also the OEMs have surely become wary about the cost of a possible recall, given Intel's recent track record.
