I think it's both. Apparently, the event had been evolving - especially if you follow the Chinese press and read between lines - and they now chose the timing of disclosure to coincide with Senate hearing. Ibexx PS: I think it's real this time, not another smoke screen. The Peoples Daily carried an article late last week, expressing the "hidden concerns" of TD-SCDMA. Basically, TD-SCDMA remains a laboratory showpiece, handset and other hardware products are not sufficiently mature for commercial deployment.
