One of the things that always strikes one, when reading the bible, is how God's directives mimic and justify the lusts and desires that are unbridled in the less moral representatives of our race. I wonder why that is? I wonder why God seems to have the same desires as a rather uncivilized and primitive archetype of homo sapiens? The Universe could have had a God like Socrates, or Lao-Tzu. Why did it get one whose primary interest was to kill everyone but virgins, and take those back to be used by the warriors until the next battle when new ones could be gotten. We were just lucky, I guess. Commentators on these matters sometimes (when they are able to get the assumption in without direct contradiction!), say they do these things for getting wives. OH! What a quaint, advanced, and sweetly civilized method! Kill all their parents and brothers and sisters, and go to it.OF COURSE, ONE ALSO WONDERS HOW THEY QUALIFIED WHICH GIRLS WERE AND WERE NOT VIRGINS AS THEY WENT SLAUGHTERING THROUGH THE CAMPS??? THIS MUST HAVE MADE THEIR BARBARIC KILLINGS EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE FOR THESE CARRIERS OF THE MORAL CODE OF MANKIND. iN ANY CASE, THESE men of god WERE ABLE TO FIND AN EVEN 400 WHO HAD NEVER SLEPT WITH A MAN. THIS IS A VERY INSTRUCTIVE BIBLICAL TALE FOR YOUNG WOMAN TO BE CHASTE, AND TO SAVE YOURSELF FOR THE WONDERFUL LIFE GOD HAS IN STORE FOR YOU, OUT OF HIS INFINITE MERCY. Judges 21 10 So the assembly sent twelve thousand fighting men with instructions to go to Jabesh Gilead and put to the sword those living there, including the women and children. 11 "This is what you are to do," they said. "Kill every male and every woman who is not a virgin." 12 They found among the people living in Jabesh Gilead four hundred young women who had never slept with a man, and they took them to the camp at Shiloh in Canaan.
