Not being an engineer, I do not know whether this company would fit that definition or not. But you might like to check out a privately held company by the name of Charlotte's Web Networks They are an electro-optical router company, I believe. It's promising stuff, as are all optical products, but real-life application is a few years away. Juniper rules the world of electrical routers. If electro-optical, and eventually pure optical, routers come into wide use, Juniper may (or may not!) be challenged as "the" carrier-class router company. But that is a long way away. We are still living in the electrical world for now.
