Ray, what I do not like is that their are people that want to buy the EV-1 that live outside Cal. and Az. that GM won't sell to. One such person posts on this board.

THIS IS MY OPINION ABOUT GM KILLING THE EV.
(1)GM,is making record profits. For every EV sold one less profitable car sold "could" be the result. (2) GM will lose money on low volume sales. It does not want to prime the pump for the EV market. (3)It does not want to change a profitable market it has now. All the dealers will expect to do 40% less business in auto repairs from these cars. This in turn could cause more problems for GM. I got that 40% figure from the Auto companies one of the auto news stories I belive. (4) GM could be afraid if they back the wrong battery or a better technolgy comes along heads could roll.

Big company don't always do the right thing. When we had the gas panic in the 70's Stan offered at least One (if not all) the idea of heat pump of some kind to supply heat for cars , as a way of lowering the the miles per gallon on cars so they could meet government increase regulations. The answer that the auto companies had was to lobby congress to change the laws to allow the auto companies to disconnect the heaters for the mileage test. (story told by Stan at one of meetings I hope I got it right.)

Just my Opinion's
