If AMD Saxony sells to the U.S.A. a 1.1 GHz Thunderbird for $700 they actually get €780 for it (at the current exchange rate). Some months ago they'd gotten less then €700. So they profit from the weak Euro

I was referring to what they sell in Europe, not the US.

Using your example, if they sold something for 780 Euros, they get $700 USD today. A few months ago, that 780 Euros was equal to $800 USD. (IE, they gotta jack the prices up in Europe to make the same amount, or else suffer with a weak Euro)
