Good point. I have never seen a #1 be perceived as an underdog. Makes no sense. Your number one until someone displaces you and that has not happened yet. Noone should underestimate any company with over 20+ billion in cash.

That being said, if the market is an indicator of future envents, I must confess that things do not look good for MSFT's future.

When asked as to where he will find 1000 employees that he would need this year, Naveen Jain the CEO of Infospace (an ex Microsoft guy) answered to a journalist from Business Week ; 'There is this old economy company called Microsoft'.
