Well, what else is new? Sounds very different from the Wall St. Journal story a few months ago in which Dr. J. is said to have left the table after a demand was made for Q to tell the Chinese how to make CDMA One chipsets.

I suspect that there was a grain of truth in the story, despite Dr. J.'s denials. My reading of the tea leaves is that Q and the Chinese have reached an understanding in connection with their manufacture of CDMA One sets and that the deal on CDMA2000 is being cut.

Since both systems are pin compatible, why would they worry about the starting point for the system. It doesn't matter where you start in the evolutionary pathway to CDMA2000. You just need to start!!
