Bush was not provoked when he called the reporter an asshole. Equally disturbing was how Cheney bought into Bush's little joke and offered a sarcastic comment in return. I think both of these candidates need to apologize to the reporter and to the American people. That would be the smart thing to do.

Absolutely! I have gotten quite used to the politically correct liars, thieves, and scoundrels in the elite and powerful positions, and their ass kissers in all the low places. It is a form of black mail to put up a pretense of offense over the kind of language employed. Even on this thread we have people who are attacking credible and decent congressmen for no other reason than they think it somehow builds a defense or justification for the behavior of our liar and chief in the oval office. "Hall of shame" my ass!
