AMD has a fixed price list for all of the world

Andreas,

I wasn't aware of this.

Okay, you could argue that this will slow down demand in Europe -- but that's another story.

I guess it depends how bad it gets. Of course it will have some impact on demand for high speed parts even now (read-- high priced).

Andreas,

So if the Euro is weak AMD gets the same dollar amount from it European sales, Europeans just have to pay more Euros for the CPUs. Okay, you could argue that this will slow down demand in Europe -- but that's another story.

Since AMD is a small competitor of Intel, everything needs to be viewed relative to Intel.

Don't forget that AMD leads in price / performance, so when facing higher prices from Intel, they may opt for AMD product with same or better performance at lower price.
