Sun Micro Founder, Pres File To Sell Total 250,000
Shares

Dow Jones Newswires

WASHINGTON -- Sun Microsystems Inc. (SUNW) Founder and Chief Scientist William Joy
and President and Chief Operating Officer Edward Zander filed to sell a total of 250,000 shares of
the company's common stock, according to Form 144s released Tuesday by the Securities and
Exchange Commission.

A Form 144 allows for the sale of restricted stock, but it isn't a commitment to sell.

Joy filed to sell 150,000 shares, and Zander filed to sell 100,000.

The filings listed Aug. 31 as the approximate sale date for the shares. Salomon Smith Barney was
listed as the broker.

As reported, Zander registered on Aug. 8 to sell 100,000 shares, and on Aug. 15 he registered
50,000 more. On July 26, he sold 50,000 shares.

Based in Palo Alto, Calif., Sun Microsystems makes and sells hardware, software and services for
establishing intranets and expanding the Internet.
