Everything I post to you is always inconsequential.... so be it. Indeed... why bother..... You already know it all anyway..

FWIW it's pretty clear that english is your second language. I never said, nor did I ever imply, that the carriers were going away.... NEVER. The discussion was about where revenues come from. I made the comment that voice will ride for free over the network - it very well may be a TELCO (such an arcane term which dates you) network but bottom line is voice will be what become inconsequential.

This conversation has gone about as far as it can go. Let's step back and watch. You were wrong months ago. If you recall I posted you 2 different companies that were providing free long distance... yes they were small ISP's and you responded that they mean nothing.. that the big guys will never do such a thing. Now AT&T is doing it and you say it still means nothing. You call this "little PR" and you call AT&T desperate.... looks to me like they're looking for new ways to generate new revenues because voice revenues don't cut it.

Let's see - do you remember frame relay and Wiltel? AT&T was losing leased line revenue...what did they do - they joined the game and they sell frame relay today and soon after came Sprint, MCI and the RBOC's (who were still reeling for a set of not so sound investments in SMDS). Today's ISP's are offering free voice on data services and what's AT&T doing???? They're joining the game.... It's only a matter of time. And when it happens you'll say.... "See, I was right. The "TELCOS" bought up all the ISP's that were worth anything.... well.. except AOL which already bought TWC.

Give it up.
