I agree, there is no reason to think that the chattering classes in Britain are not full of Labourites, even if they have a share of Tories. The premise that no bias could appear is faulty.......

I would even go further: the Left and Right in Europe are both infected with what the French call Etatisme. That is why Thatcher, who wanted to "Americanize" the British economy, had so much trouble with her own party, the so- called Tory "wets", who want to use the government to preserve Traditional Britain, which is semi- rural, gentile, snobbish, and disdains commerce. They hated her as much as Labor for making competition and efficiency goals of the New Britain.......
