Jeff: I wouldn't count on Yahoo! to rally to the cause of the defendants in SLAPP cases. Don't you think they love the controversy that brings new 'hits' to their financial message boards? Besides, who is more likely to bring Yahoo! revenue, the large corporations who initiate SLAPP's or some silly critical investor? I still like the concept of laws that would force the SLAPP plaintiffs to show real damages before subpoena's or any discovery gets started. I believe that is a quantifiable way to stop these frivolous lawsuits before they do damage to the anonymous message board poster.
