If Bush slips another point in the polls he would agree to debate on a flagpole in Central Park. The Republicans still think that American's are stupid. It's all a part of that frat boy distain for the ordinary.

You are correct, they are in competition. Of course, the possibility that Larry King Live will make substantial inroads into the prime time network schedule is laughable, and most of the viewers of the prime time broadcast would not watch any Sunday gabfests at all, so it is doubtful that that factor matters much. Moreover, none of the networks suggested that they might agree to something if modifications were introduced: on Meet the Press, have their correspondents represented; on Larry King Live, permit a segment of questions from their representatives. But it is a close call, I will concede.

Yes, I suppose they will make counter- proposals.......
