APC has 1.94 Billion Energy Equivalent Barrels (MMMEEB) of reserves after the UPC merger, according to Standard & Poor's. This equates to 11.64 tcf of gas based on 6 MCF per barrel.

Nick. Lg caps, as you know, aren't my focus. But here goes.

There are so many company specific things that can have a big impact on investor expectations and therefore on the stock price of the stocks your mention that my first suggestion would be to do your own careful due diligence in researching each name. For someone not extremely familiar with the oil patch, lg caps are a good place to start because there is usually a lot of publically available info that will help you get up to speed with the entire sector.

Your investment objectives, preferred holding period, style, and sometimes most important your temperment (tolerance for risk, ST disappointment, patience, etc) can have a larger bearing on you choices than even the characteristics of the individual companies.

As far as value measures, I'd suggest you put more emphasis on cash flow per share than earnings. One of our posters here, JimP, has put together an excellent spread sheet built upon cash flow multiples of the various E&P stocks. You best move would be to study that table carefully early in your due diligence.

If I or someone else here just gives you a couple of names, even if you make a nice buck, it won't help you nearly as much LT as working on your own to make your decisions.

Hope that helps.
