Hi all; Micron is shipping 333MHz QDR SRAM now. The reason this is of some interest is that historically, DRAM technology has followed SRAM technology. SRAM went synchronous before DRAM, for instance. The new trend in SRAM is "QDR" which means DDR point to point, and unidirectional. That is, reads and writes are performed on separate ports. Spending enough pins to split the data bus this way is a new trend, it is a sign that pins are not as expensive as they once were. The problem for Rambus is that its technology is intended to save pins.

MICRON TECHNOLOGY, INC. ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF QDR(tm) SRAM
Micron Technology Inc. (NYSE: MU), today announced sample availability of Quad Data Rate (QDR) SRAM, an 8 Mbit device organized as 512K x 18 with the capability to deliver data as fast as 333 MHz.

Hmmmmm,...?

But the antitrust argument is weak, according to Brown. "The antitrust claim may be farfetched. They have a relatively weak set of facts. That Rambus managed to deceive the whole industry? It's a lot to believe."

Now I wonder what "evidence" MU could try to find that could make Mom & Pop believe that teeny, tiny RMBS could deceive the whole industry?

Lets see now, ...what could they do? I wonder just exactly what those Chipzilla Guys from INTC were telling folks on their world tour to stamp out hunger on the Rambus by dispensing their millions and "Vision" of the DRDRAM only future?

I wonder what those statements would sound like as a "voice over" for a video presentation of all the silent, and as yet unseen, RMBS/INTC agreements?

No, we can't go there! It would be just too, too BIASED to even contemplate. Shame on me. I better go wash my bird brain with Lye Soap. (Hee Hee:8)
