Re :Data storage flash to be in short supply through 2004!!!
This is excellent news for SNDK shareholders.
Let's hope demand stays high and pricing remains "benign".

Not so sure I agree its good news Aus. While supply is constrained, Sandisk is unable to sell as many units as it could otherwise make, and there is a maximum price that people will pay, whatever the shortage, limiting profits and growth.

Also, while pricing remains high, purchases will be lower than otherwise. For example, I may well buy 3 extra CF cards at say $25 each whereas I wont buy one at $75, I'll make do with what I have. Obviously there must be a 'sweet spot' somewhere , where profits and growth are maximised, and I have a suspicion that its more towards the greater supply end of the spectrum than where we currently are.

Just my 2c

Who do we blame for the omission of Sandisk's name in this article?

. Meanwhile, suppliers of NAND flash devices are having trouble keeping up with demand. Currently, these manufacturers include Toshiba, Samsung, Hitachi, and Fujitsu, Niebel said.
